Studies for “Northview” Series

Snapshot from 2000 in Lisa’s Tribeca studio where she placed the small studies for her Northview series to dry. She had taken three models, one of whom was her childhood best friend, Kathy, to be photographed in various rooms of a beautiful mansion in West Chester, whose decor Lisa felt exuded femininity. It was her first body of work where the environmental elements were equal to the figures. Several of these works are currently on view at David Zwirner in Babie Brood: Small Paintings, 1985-2018.
